Blinds

If you orient blinds so the slats point up towards you (opposite the normal orientation), less light enters through the blinds. This is because natural light comes from above, so if the slats point up less light will bounce through the gap.

It's also harder for people to peek through the blinds, and if they do there's less interesting stuff near the ceiling than the floor.

Whatever reason you have for closing them, you should close them pointing up.
