You can close doors faster without slamming them by pulling back at the end to slow them down. It feels a bit weird to deliberately pull back on a closing door, but it does work.
Physics is neat.
Same principle automatic door closers uses, though they'll never go nearly as fast for safety reasons. Assuming they've even been tuned correctly to begin with.
If you're in a rush and slamming doors behind you anyways, you may as well learn how to do it quietly.
It's satisfying too, learning exactly how fast you can close it without a bang. Doors are a great excuse to do a little spinning.

Doors are a mild example when the digital world is in a volume arms race and the physical world seems to be heading the same direction thanks to cars. At least it's an easy one to fix.
