I'm generally in favor of buying a small set of nice things over a large set of cheap things. Exception being clothes hangers, which I've been using the same cheap plastic set of for as long as I can remember.
There are good reasons to use nice velvet or wood hangers, but I don't have the kinds of clothes which would benefit from them. I don't have heavily tailored clothes which need shoulder support, and the delicate/stretchy items are folded instead of hung because it's less hassle.
However, I do have a lot of small items which need to be air dried. I wear a lot of clothes out in the rain which aren't water resistant. For hanging those things up to dry without needing a separate set of "wet" hangers, cheap plastic hangers are fantastic. I can't run out of hangers to dry things on because I use the same set to store clothes, and I don't need to worry about water damaging or stinking up nice hangers.
Sometimes the cheap option is the best one.

Sat down to write and had a flurry of thoughts, but no time to expand them. Been saving this as a quick easy idea for a while, but it somehow popped out of an entirely different post about duplicates. It's nice to bang something easy out now and then.
