It doesn't matter that it's difficult to untie, the only time I need to untie them is to retighten them when the knot is already loose.
I used to tuck in the laces too, but I've found it's more hassle for minimal benefit.
I don't want to think about my shoelaces.
The extra knot makes sure I don't have to.
