Perpetual Rewiring

Flip the Pillow

Yes, everyone's heard you should make the bed in the morning.

It starts the day off right, it airs out the bedding, it welcomes you back after a long day knowing your past self did your future self right.

Sure.

But straightening blankets is a lot of effort every morning just for something which will immediately be ruined. Besides, there's something special about flopping down into a mess prearranged for your sleeping habits without needing to pull back covers.

Flipping the pillow over when you get in bed still feels good since you get the cool undented side, but it's basically no effort. For just a teeny bit more energy, you can even fluff it.

It's the little things.

Do wash your sheets sometime though, that I can promise is worth the effort.

Nightly Notes

I'm sure "Make the Bed (maybe)" will be written in the next couple months. I have an atypical sleeping arrangement and an extremely erratic schedule, so I'm still uncertain if it's worth the effort.

Today was interesting, I couldn't settle on a topic and was pressed for time1. Bouncing around a bunch of ideas which I like but which just need a few hours to mull over.

Writing is getting incrementally faster, but I need to learn how to write things over multiple days without it feeling outdated. There was a post I was so certain would be out last week, and I look at it now and want to rewrite it from scratch.

This is what I wanted, I wanted to make myself explain things and thereby realize where the explanation was insufficient. Still doesn't feel great.

I don't think I can slow down, or I'll just stop.

Onwards to another day,
