A little trick I use to get myself started on a slow day.1
I'm allowed to keep reading, browsing the internet, or whatever else the distraction of the day is, but I have to start doing something productive alongside. This can be as simple as brushing my teeth which I continue whatever I was scrolling in bed.
This typically results in a very silly situation like attempting to rinse dishes one-handed so I can keep scrolling a book on my phone. Tanks my productivity, terrible experience, I get things done half as well at half the speed. But I know that, I get frustrated with how bad it feels, and end up putting down my phone so I can focus.
Then magically I've gotten started on the real work, and I can keep that momentum going for the rest of the day. Same mechanism as just think about it, but triggered by the frustration of doing things poorly rather than thinking about how I could do it not poorly.

Nightly Notes
I spend so much energy on tricking myself. I would stop and think about if that's a good thing more if it wasn't so effective.
